Evergreen Counselling Group was founded on the conviction that no matter our circumstances we can find the strength, hope and healing in all aspects of our lives. All associates of Evergreen Counselling Group are clinical counsellors and mental health professionals, who are members of both the British Columbia Association for Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Our therapists meet the stringent standards of these provincial and national organizations, including academic excellence, rigorous training, and professional accountability.

As members of these associations, our counsellors are both Registered Clinical Counsellors and Canadian Certified Counsellors. This gives you confidence in their ability as mental health professionals. It also means they qualify for many insurance plans. Depending on your provider, your counselling visit may be partially or fully covered by your insurance plan.

Of all the plants in the world, the evergreen tree holds a special place as one of the most resilient kinds. Their deep roots and secure grounding allow them to grow tall and flourish, even during periods of drought. The Coastal Redwood can grow more than 350 ft above ground, but its roots extend up to another 100 ft below ground! They retain their greenery throughout the year, even when all other trees lose their foliage. This is one of the reasons that they have been adopted as symbols of hope during the winter by cultures around the world for thousands of years!

At Evergreen Counselling Group, we think the evergreen serves as a great analogy for the human experience. Life is not always springtime and roses, and often we find ourselves in times of hurt, loss, or despair. These times will never be easy, but if we grow deep roots on a foundation that lasts, we can survive and even thrive in the tough times.
